Max Verstappen has proved that he is one of the all-time F1 greats. The Dutchman has demonstrated an out-of-the-box performance in his past 2-3 seasons. He won 19 out of the 23 races in the last season, and currently he has won fifty percent of the races out of 14, with 10 rounds still remaining. This amazing talent and effort has given him three world titles to his name. However, despite being only 26 years old, Verstappen revealed that he won’t be in the sport for a decade longer.

In a recent interview, Max Verstappen was asked about his future in 10 years and relationship with Lando Norris after the collision in Austria. Verstappen stated that friendships in the sport are definitely possible and respected. He mentioned that he and Lando Norris respect each other on track and even do sports together on the track.

Of course friendships in F1 are possible. We respect each other on the track and we do sports together.

Max Verstappen acknowledged that his generation of drivers get along well because they grew up racing karts together. This bond from the start highlights their fights and friendship are often affected. However, they get along with it quickly. With a laugh, Verstappen joked about his future. The Dutchman mentioned he will be retired within 10 years and certainly won’t be in F1 by then. He found it amusing to think about retirement, even though he’s still young and at the peak of his career.

The younger generation is like that, because we grew up together on karts. Where will I be in 10 years? I will be retired! I certainly won't be here.

Max Verstappen claims he aims for ‘perfection’ with race engineer GP

Max Verstappen during the Hungarian GP criticized the team for a poor strategy call. The Dutchman ended up colliding with Lewis Hamilton during the final stint of the race. Verstappen talked about his relationship with race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase. He mentioned both he and Lambiase are very focused on winning, and they don’t settle for finishing second or third. They know that winning every race isn’t always possible. They are very critical of their own performance, which is just part of their nature. Although aiming for perfection is challenging and they can’t always achieve it, Verstappen highlighted they work hard to get as close to perfect as possible.

We both want to win, we are not here to finish second or third. But we cannot win every weekend. We are very critical, but that's how we are and some people are different. I aim for perfection, even if it is difficult to always achieve it, but I want to work to get as close as possible.
Max Verstappen stated.

Certainly, Max Verstappen claims that his frustration came entirely from his strong desire to win. He always focuses on winning rather than settling for second or third place. The Hungarian GP might’ve created tensions within the team, but things have now gone back on track. Verstappen believes they always aim for perfection, and such heated moments occur from time to time.
