Juancho Hernangomez recently hit the spotlight after making his debut in the movie industry. He is not usually known for his work on the screen but his talent shows after starring alongside several other NBA players and Hollywood A-Lister, Adam Sandler. Despite having a tough time cracking the sports field, he may have found his new interest in acting.
What most do not know about him is that he is an NBA player who has been playing in the league since 2016. Since then, Juan has been bounced around the league as a trade asset. He is most notably known for his work with the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves. After his final full season where he played 52 games with the Wolves in 2020, he has not found a stable home ever since.
Who is Juancho Hernangomez?
Juan Alberto Hernangomez Geuer, otherwise known as Juancho Hernangomez was born on September 28, 1995. He is a Spanish native born in Madrid and also spent a lot of time as a professional athlete among the European leagues. He started playing professional ball in youth teams of CB Las Rozas and eventually made his way playing for Real Madrid.
He won the gold medal during the 2019 China World Cup and became an under 18 as well as under 20 medalist too. During his time with CB Estudiantes, he averaged 9.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to become the ACB Best Young Player. He was selected as the 15th overall pick by the Nuggets where he played for season. Since then, he has only been used as a trade asset and has not played over 20 games from 2021.

Juancho Hernangomez made his acting debut starring in the film “Hustle” which was released earlier this year. It also starred other players such as Trae Young, Tobias Harris, and young player Anthony Edwards. Being on set with an actor as big as Adam Sandler would mean the world. Juan spoke about his first acting role to Variety.
“It’s funny. I never wanted to act, it wasn’t my dream. It’s still not my dream. My agent called me before COVID trying to get me to do an audition for the movie but I was focused on basketball at the time. I told him no for like five months. But then COVID hits, basketball stops and I have nothing to do. I was in quarantine at my brother’s place and so bored. It was my sister who pushed my to do the audition.”
