The CFL has lost one of its brightest stars. One with immense potential. Christian Saulsberry, the wide receiver for the Edmonton Elks was reportedly shot and killed in Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend. Saulsberry had just turned 25 earlier last Monday. He played in a total of 8 games following a stellar career in West Alabama.
The Edmonton Elks mourned his loss and released a heartfelt message after he passed. “First and foremost, our hearts go out to his family during this incredibly difficult time. Our condolences are also extended to his friends, including the many teammates and coaches both here in Edmonton and elsewhere, that he impacted throughout his football career.”
“Christian’s contributions to our football team both on the field and in our locker room were significant during his one season with the Green and Gold. His positivity and energy for life will be dearly missed.”

The reason for Christian Saulsbury’s death remains unknown:
Saulsberry was an accomplished athlete with certified credentials to back it up. He was a two-time All-Conference player who managed to record 1,223 points as a senior. As of now, there are no more details with respect to the shooting.
